We are Kopano, an open source software vendor with over 10 years of experience in email and communications. Since communications in the business world these days is more than just email, we are bringing various communication technologies together in a single platform.

Our young and dynamic teams are situated in The Netherlands and in Germany. From these offices, we work together with hundreds of partners to serve thousands of customers worldwide, as well as with many worldwide experts in the field of open source development and various Linux communities.

We are looking for…

This person will be working on our current stack as well as our up and coming disruptive new products and projects. We need a positive, persevering and influential person who enjoys working in teams. You should have experience with JavaScript (or frameworks like React, Angular, Vue and Ext), Typescript and a little backend knowledge of Python, PHP or Go. Preferably in a professional working environment, but we’re also very interested in your (demonstrable) activity in relevant open source projects. Good oral and written communication skills are essential! English is a must, Dutch is an added benefit.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • at least 4 years relevant working experience
  • higher and/or university education
  • fulltime availability (40 hours per week)

It would be great (but not required) for you to have:

  • experience with Linux operating systems
  • affinity with open source and software products
  • experience with the SCRUM development methodology
  • a good grasp of groupware and email products and standards
  • experience with continuous integration and test driven development

We offer you …

  • market conform salary, significant flexibility in finding a good work-life balance and secondary benefits such as lunches and pension.
  • personal development in a broad range of technical and non-technical aspects through training, coaching and bi-yearly reviews.
  • collaboration and exchange of ideas with skilled colleagues and experts at Kopano, in the open source community and beyond.
  • the possibility to work with good processes, nice equipment and state-of-the-art tools such as the Atlassian stack (Confluence, Jira), Jenkins, OBS, Valgrind and interaction with external specialists.
  • the opportunity to join internal team events of your choice like LAN-parties, sports, ‘jeu de boules’, darting, drinks and diners.
