Delft, February 4th 2017. Kopano, the European open collaboration project is at FOSDEM for the first time.
Kopano is the Zarafa fork delivered by the makers of Zarafa! With the experience of over 10 years delivering enterprise groupware and collaboration software, the Kopano team invites developers to work with us on the entirely free software collaboration stack. Groupware, WebRTC video/chat, files. 100% AGPLv3, including all enterprise features, Webapp, Deskapp and the Outlook extension.
Kopano repositories are now publicly available, the ticketing system ( Jira ) is open and developers can contribute without signing a contribution agreement. Everything is developer centric. The community can add new sub-projects and perform pull requests. The changelog shows every commit and merges are fully transparent.
With help from community, the team works on getting into OpenSUSE and Debian upstream. Since January 29th Kopano core is in OpenSUSE factory. Debian is work in progress.
One major new development in 2017 will be the addition of a new RESTful API.
