WebApp is focused on making communication easier, faster and more enjoyable by making information available and accessible in a simple way. The recently released WebApp 3.3.0 has introduced some major new features such as task assignment, search access improvements and mail rule management. Today we are ready to release WebApp 3.3.1 RC, which is a followup for the recent final.
What’s new?
The primary focus of minor releases is to introduce smaller improvements as well as resolve bugs that have been reported by our customers, partners and the community. This particular release contains two improvements.
Performance of Global Address Book
It was discovered that the global address book would sometimes load very slowly in larger environments, for users that had the Web Meetings plugin enabled with presence. We’ve implemented a new approach in loading and caching the GAB for the user which leads to a massive performance improvement in these environments.
‘What’s new feature’
From this release forward we will be able to better introduce new features in WebApp and the plugins using the new ‘What’s New’ feature. This allows us and partners that develop plugins for WebApp to showcase their features in a dialog that is shown to the user when logging in the first time after an update has been installed. What’s new will show a screenshot and a descriptive text of the new feature.
Aside from these improvements, this release also fixes a few bugs. The full list of changes can be found in the changelog.
Where do I get the release?
The packages for this new version have been synchronized to the repositories, the portal and the download server! The WebApp documentation has been updated where required and is available on documentation.kopano.io. As always, the latest development version can be downloaded from the community download server. If you have any feedback, send an email to or open a topic in our Kopano forum!
