DeskApp is designed to be the bridge between WebApp and the desktop. DeskApp adds features a web application in a browser can’t, such as being set as the default email client, integrate with the file system to send any file as an attachment. Or even with the operating system so you can send emails from any office application. Today we are ready to release DeskApp 1.2 final, which updates the application to include the new Kopano branding and improves many integration behaviors on the supported operating systems – it even introduces a new supported Linux distribution for DeskApp: Ubuntu 16.10.

…and it introduces much more

In addition, we have implemented several bug fixes and improvements:

  • Ubuntu 16.10 support
  • Installation through group policy (-en msi packages)
  • Windows installer has the option to start DeskApp after the installation
  • Apply button in settings now gives feedback
  • Links are only opened once after system ‘returns’ from hibernation
  • Send attachment via OS integration now opens only one email
  • After hibernation DeskApp will automically log in
  • Improved SSO authentication support
  • Correct user profile is now loaded
  • Disabling of autocomplete in username and password fields
  • Apply button in settings now gives feedback
  • Screensharing via Web Meetings can now be used in a pop-out window (depends on webapp-webmeetings plugin version)

For the complete list, check out the changelog.
