Participatory knowledge transfer

 

Making digital knowledge accessible to all is one of the core principles of open source. This is why we think the commitment of the Open Knowledge Fund is really good. Since 2014, the “CodingDaVinci” project has been networking cultural and technical worlds with each other in a culture hackathon and showing what can be done with open cultural data.

Often the teaching of art in museums seems to be a boring matter, but in this case especially for pupils or students – prototypes are realised at the Hackathon, e.g. for apps, websites, data visualisations, games or interactive installations, which show surprising and inspiring ways how knowledge transfer can become exciting and participative.
