Kopano Cloud as Managed Services

Leiden, June 15, 2023 – Kopano, manufacturer of the groupware solution of the same name, is launching the new Kopano Cloud product as managed services on July 1, 2023. Kopano Cloud offers a native connection to Microsoft Outlook and can thus replace MS Exchange servers. Whether on-premises, as a private or public cloud – with Kopano Cloud, companies retain data sovereignty.

Future-proof and scalable

Kopano Cloud combines a fresh code base with the experience of 20 years of groupware development: Modern container stack technologies ensure that Kopano Cloud runs stably and performantly even in large hosting environments with several thousand accounts and multiple clients.
As part of the new development, the manufacturer has also optimized the connection to Microsoft Outlook. Kopano Cloud is the only groupware solution outside Microsoft to offer a native Outlook connection – plug-ins, add-ons or other workarounds are not required. Kopano Cloud behaves like an MS Exchange server towards clients. Kopano Cloud uses Autodiscover to configure profiles and mailboxes.

OEM-Partner: Integration in Mail-Gateway

From Q3 2023, TUXGUARD GmbH will provide Kopano Cloud in its own mail gateway as an OEM partner. The gateway can check incoming and outgoing messages for spam, viruses or Trojans and thus increases security.
Together with the security features of the mail gateway (filter, encryption, etc.), the Kopano Cloud integration provides a real unique selling point: Here comes a full-fledged and secure Exchange replacement – GDPR-compliant hosted in German data centers or as a virtual appliance in its own environment.

“We are pleased to have gained TUXGUARD as a new OEM partner. This enables us to offer Kopano Cloud on-premises as well,” says Daniel Rauer, Managing Director of bytemine GmbH, which has taken over the operational sales tasks and marketing for Kopano as Premier Distributor since November 2021.

Marketing exclusively via partners

Kopano Cloud is distributed via a partner network. For the launch of the new product, linudata GmbH and hsc solutions are available as partners and provide customers with a Kopano Cloud Offering, i.e. a service offer. The respective partner company is also in charge of the administration of the environment.
A subscription model with monthly billing by the partners is planned. Customers can thus react flexibly to their own requirements and only pay for the mailboxes they use.
